The man singlehandedly responsible for bringing the “after-hours” concept to the Las Vegas nightlife scene—long before the megaclub trend swept the Strip—is promising to wow partygoers once again. Victor Drai says the now-shuttered Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon, which was the longstanding home of his Drai’s After Hours lounge, is currently being reworked into the sexy, chic boutique hotel in Las Vegas and will house not one, but three of Drai’s venues: a beach club, 65,000-square-foot nightclub and a slight retooling of Drai’s After Hours. In our exclusive interview, the nightlife impresario adds that the nightclub aesthetic will be dark and sexy, and the pool outside plus the Strip view will keep patrons coming back for more in its prime space where Flamingo Road intersects with Las Vegas Boulevard.

Drai isn’t giving away any major design details yet, but did share this insider info: “[The] lighting will be a main element. Not scene performers, but LED lights in a major way,” he says. “We also have a location nobody has. The club and its area will be a big part of the success of it, and it will be more than just a black box.” Though the electronic dance music craze is going strong, Drai says don’t expect him to churn out another version of the trend at his freshly minted venues.

“We will focus on what the music is, around the time we open,” Drai says. “It changes, just like fashion.”With the pool element, he does hope to bring a night swim party to the nightclub, similar to the wildly popular one he created and conceptualized when he founded XS at Encore.

But he’s got other tricks up his sleeve, too: “We will have an element of surprise. The way the club is situated, it will be very different than other clubs…It’s going to look like the most beautiful club ever made. The is the first one I have designed and created from square one, and I think it will be my best one ever.”
