Some interesting facts about the original “White Christmas.” The song was written by Irving Berlin, and Bing Crosby recorded it for a 1942 film, “Holiday Inn.” The version of the song we’re most familiar with isn’t the original, though. Crosby’s master recording from 1942 was used so much, it was damaged, and the song was recorded again in 1947. That’s the song we hear on the radio each year. Bing Cosby’s version of “White Christmas” has sold more than 100 million copies.

There are more than 500 versions of “White Christmas,” in dozens of languages. Thanks to Matt Goss, make that 501.
