The Linq isn’t just about the High Roller wheel
Here’s an “only in Vegas” question for you: what do zebras, coffee, and mechanical bulls have in common? That would be The Linq, as the first few venues of the anticipated Strip-centric district have finally been announced. Opening Dec. 27, count on a Starbucks (obvs), whimsical frozen drink and candy bar Purple Zebra, fancy gourmet hot dog outlet Haute Doggery, Mexican fusion restaurant and bar Chayo Cocina and KOTO, a retail store boasting eccentric gifts. The biggest news? The return of O’Sheas bar and casino—newly rebuilt and sandwiched in between The Quad, Linq and Flamingo.

In a convenient collaboration, two of the biggest leisure and hospitality conglomerates—Starwood and Caesars Entertainment—have formed a strategic new partnership by uniting their loyalty programs. Starwood Preferred Guest and Caesar Entertainment’s Total Rewards are set to offer joint benefits for members who stay at either company’s luxurious destinations.
The alliance means guests can earn and redeem their Starpoints and Reward Credits, as well as take advantage of one-of-a-kind Moments by SPG—unique access and exclusive perks to the swanky dining, entertainment, and shopping experiences offered by Caesars Entertainment. Be sure to link up your accounts by Jan. 9 when benefits begin.

You can ice skate in the desert
Las Vegas weather might not be below freezing for most of the winter, but we kind of love the idea that you can have a fanciful spin on Caesars Palace’s ice skating rink even when temperatures are hitting the 60s. Coined “Caesars Chalet,” it’s reminiscent of a mountain lodge experience, so expect falling snow and a team of pros to offer demonstrations and lessons at 11 a.m. daily. Before you hit the ice, warm up with hot chocolate, hot toddy or Bailey’s and coffee.

The Axis of Vegas entertainment is at Planet Hollywood
In a groundbreaking announcement, Live Nation revealed its joint venture with Caesars Entertainment, beginning in its official venue, The Axis, formerly known as PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort. Britney Spears’ “Britney: Piece of Me” opens there on Dec. 27 as its first artist-in-residence. As Live Nation has looked to expand its presence in Las Vegas, the powerful pairing means the world’s leading promoter of live entertainment will bring its roster of artists to the nightlife-meets-theater venue.

Sugar Factory at Paris satisfies your sweet tooth
As its name suggests, Sugar Factory Bar & Grill at Paris Las Vegas is the place to go for creative new sweets. After a night of imbibing, we think the Fat Elvis waffles, made with (you guessed it) peanut butter mouse and bananas, or carrot cake pancakes could quickly whisk away our hangover blues. If you’re feeling less adventurous, skip right to a classic breakfast burrito, or go for straight decadence with one of its 11 new sweet treats. We’re partial to the ice cream sandwiches, customize-able with your flavor choice of cookie and ice cream.
