So you survived Christmas in Sin City. You are all hyped up on holiday treats and loaded up with only-in-Vegas wish list gifts. (Lucky you.) But now you are staring down the ultimate party: New Year’s Eve on the Las Vegas Strip. No pressure.
Trevi’s delicious five-course New Year’s Eve dinner ($95/person) includes crab bisque in a bread bowl, and lobster ravioli with caviar. But don’t pass up the Forum Shops hot spot’s famous homemade gelato. The champagne flavor is served only during the last week of December.
A Sammy Hagar-worthy Party
Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Cantina, inside Miracle Mile Shops, knows how to party. For New Year’s Eve, the bash will be $300 all-you-can-drink starting at 9:30 pm. Plus, the buffet is loaded up with mini tacos, guac and other Mexican specialties. A dance floor will be cleared in the dining room, so take a few shots and get busy.
Buffet, Buffet, Buffet…
It’s not Las Vegas without a trip to an endless buffet. The $88-per-person Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace has plans for more than 20 New Year’s Eve-only menu items. And it will serve bottomless champagne all night (plus hangover brunch the next day). Dig into one-night-only specials like filet mignon with truffle soup and smoked salmon with caviar.
Guy Savoy is world famous for his to-die-for truffle soup, and his restaurant at Caesars Palace is obsessed with champagne. So where better to welcome 2014? The early bird $350/person (plus $200 for wine pairing) meal will be one for the memory books. It includes a whole roasted turbot fish and American prime beef tenderloin with black truffle potato puree. Or spring for the later “Prestige” seating. The $500/person (plus $300 wine pairing) nine-course menu features foie gras with crispy quinoa and porcini-bellota ham infusion.
Count down to midnight at Pure. The Caesars Palace nightclub has famously hosted Britney Spears and other celebs on Vegas’ most important night. This year, hometown hero Ne-Yo will do the honors before taking to the stage for a live performance.
Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris knows that when it comes to New Year’s Eve, it really is all about the champagne. For $200, guests get a panoramic birds-eye view of the Strip from the restaurant’s famous deck. And from 11 pm to midnight, indulge in as much Domaine Chandon as you can drink.
R&B star Jeremih will take the mic at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens at Paris. With the famous Strip fireworks as a backdrop, he will count down to 2014 and then bring the house down with a live performance.
Dressed to the Nines
Sin City’s newest champagne bar is going all out for the most bubbly-soaked night of the year. On New Year’s Eve at Fizz, $300 includes open bar, Dom Perignon by the glass and passed hors d’oeuvres from 9 pm to midnight. Oh, and the Caesars Palace party spot is kicking up its heels for a “Roaring 20s” theme. So live a little and dress up.
Oh La La
Central at Caesars Palace is entering 2014 with a four-course, $59-per-person dinner. Starters at the French restaurant include a sinful chestnut soup with foie gras, while a standout main is the lobster risotto served with browned butter. For dessert, Michel Richard’s famous chocolate cake should do the trick.
