Big news in Vegas today! Caesars Palace and Nobu Hospitality have announced they’ll partner to open the first-ever Nobu Hotel, right here in Las Vegas.

Plans include a multi-million dollar renovation to the interior of the Centurion Tower at Caesars Palace, as well as the addition of the first Nobu restaurant and lounge on the Strip. (There’s a Nobu restaurant at the Hard Rock, off the Strip.)

Nobu

Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, the driving force behind Nobu's success around the world.

Nobu Hospitality is a collaboration between acclaimed chef Nobuyuki “Nobu” Matsuhisa and his longtime partners Meir Teper and actor Robert De Niro. Nobu is considered one of the premier luxury lifestyle companies in the world, with operations spanning five continents.

Nobu Matsuhisa trivia: His friendship with Robert De Niro resulted in an appearance in the Vegas-based, Martin Scorsese-directed film “Casino,” a Sin City classic.

The 180-room Nobu Hotel will feature 16 suites and a penthouse with a stylish interior design that showcases natural materials and Nobu’s signature “Japanese elegance.”

The Nobu restaurant and lounge will span 9,500-square-feet and will be located at the base of the Nobu tower, near the Appian Way at Caesars Palace.

Here’s a short video featuring the chef working his magic, a slightly awkward photo op, some dudes in suits and quite a few interesting tidbits about this project from some of the key players.

Robert De Niro says, “I started seeing [Nobu restaurants] opening in hotels, and I said, ‘Why don’t we open our own hotel?’ Nobu’s a special restaurant, the quality’s great. The idea of a Nobu Hotel has always excited me.”

The hotel-within-a-hotel is expected to offer an experience unlike anything in Las Vegas, and is expected to open in about 15 months.

There’s always something new and exciting happened in Vegas, and there’s sure to be more delicious news about the new Nobu Hotel within the Caesars Palace Las Vegas resort.

Very interesting. Looking forward to the new Caesars. Looks like in the next couple of years it will be completely remade. Caesars must be one of the most enduring yet flexible landmarks in Las Vegas.

Do you know if this means I can finally get sake from the cocktail waitresses when I play? With all the Asian players, I am surprised that they never have sake/baijou/soju…
