Vegas-Themed Water Park Makes Hypothetical Splash

Many familiar with Las Vegas bemoan the passing of Wet ‘n Wild, a family-friendly water park that once resided on the north end of the Strip (it closed in 2004).

But rumors have now surfaced that another, bigger, water park is scheduled to debut in Vegas in 2012. Check out Las Vegas Wet.

The official site for what’s described as a “Las Vegas adventure destination” is light on details (our e-mail inquiries went unanswered), but we sleuthed out this extensive write-up about the park, including renderings, so it must be true!

Vegas Wet

We love renderings, especially those with giant, floating craps dice.

The site for “Las Vegas Wet” says the theme park will include the “largest indoor waterpark in North America” and will be “an environmentally friendly landscape of hotels, arenas, casinos, shopping and dining facilities.” Arenas, huh? Plural? Hey, anything’s possible in Vegas! This ambitious project bears watching, that’s for sure. (Thanks to Thinkwell Design for letting us post the rendering, by the way.)

If Vegas is missing one thing, it’s year-round, indoor skiing. Uh, right?

In the meantime, take a look at a pool experience that actually exists at Flamingo Las Vegas.

Dolphin

This stock photo of a dolphin has pretty much nothing to do with the proposed water park. We just like dolphins.

I hope they don’t bring in dolphins or whales. They only come from places like the Cove or Faroe where their slaughtered and separated from their pods to come and amuse us.
