The LINQ has added some spice
Everyone’s eyes are on The LINQ as its first venues have officially opened, with more to roll out through spring. The first major restaurant—and one we’re really excited about—is the two-level Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar. It officially opened its doors New Year’s Day, offering a spicy mix of Mexican fare, DJs, vast tequila collection and late night “drunk menu.” (If that doesn’t sound like a surefire recipe for a party, wait until you give its mechanical bull mascot, Chayo, a spin.)
In the massive 12,000 square foot space, expect creative dishes by Executive Chef Ernesto Zendejas including queso fundido, bass ceviche and “para la mesa”—chef’s favorite selections.

Word Series of Poker is raising the stakes
The holy grail of poker tournaments has set its 2014 dates for the 45th running World Series of Poker: May 27 to July 13. Returning to its home at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, it will conclude with the $10,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em WSOP Main Event championship July 5-14.
The most prestigious poker tournament series in the stratosphere always features an action-packed schedule and this year is no different, with key tournaments including the opening $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em “Millionaire Maker” and The Big One for ONE DROP, a whopping $1,000,000 buy-in charity event to benefit ONE DROP that always attracts numerous celebrity players.

Bring on the bling: the coveted World Series of Poker winner's bracelet.

Get ready for biscuits and burlesque
Openings never stop in Vegas, especially when it comes to our decadent foodie scene. Hash House A Go Go, practically an institution in Vegas dining, is bringing its eye-popping portions to a location at Rio, set to open in the first quarter of the year. Its “twisted farm food” includes diner dishes with an upscale fusions, and just about the most inventive breakfast plates we can recall. On the Italian side of things, Pin Up Pizza, a casual joint with retro décor, is set to bring pepperoni and pincurls to Planet Hollywood in the space next door to Pink’s Hot Dogs.

Get a second helping of Meat Loaf in February
Want some more meat with that loaf? The electrifying “I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That)” singer will serve up some more of his rockin’ tunes from the ‘80s to today. Meat Loaf kicked off the inaugural session of the new RockTellz & Cocktailz theatrical show at Planet Hollywood’s showroom, and is back for another round of dates beginning Feb. 13 for 24 performances through April.

RockTellz & CockTails Presents Meat Loaf, who returns Feb. 13 for an extended run at Planet Hollywood.
