In a few months, all of the cabins will be assembled on the High Roller at The Linq in Las Vegas.

In a few months, all 28 cabins will be assembled on the High Roller.

In a momentous occasion for $550 million Linq district, the first passenger cabin of its High Roller has been officially installed, and was rotated up to the top this morning. After arriving in Vegas, the custom constructed, 22-ton cabin even got its own police escorts to transport it to site.

With the cabin now beaming at the highest point of the wheel’s rim, the total height makes the observation wheel the world’s tallest at 550 feet.

Each cabin set to go on the High Roller in Las Vegas weighs 22 tons.

Oversized load is right! Each cabin weighs 22 tons.

The major milestone kicks off added buzz surrounding the rest of the high tech wheel’s construction. All remaining 40-passenger cabins will continue to go up throughout the next few months, each one forever altering the Strip skyline. As The Linq’s General Manager recently told us, expect the High Roller to be fully operational in the first half of 2014.
